Dear Tomha,
I don't think that many people know that my passion is always for volcanoes and our Earth's climate. no matter, now you know.. Perhaps that was why I chose to do geography rather than history, although my grades for history should be much better (or was it not? Can't remember.. who can remember their lower sec grades anyway). Was surfing around the Internet just now when I came across Mount Kilimanjaro and gosh.. I had really forgotten about it for many years already. Afterall, A'level geography did not talk much about African volcanoes and I was too enthralled by El Nino and La Nina too care. Well, a spectacular sight isn't it, Mount Kilimanjaro? A stratovolcano by nature and it had become dormant since modern times (A test to all who took geography.. which year did the modern time start? hehe.. will tell u the answer after a few days..hehe) albeit still emitting some levels of steam and sulphur. It is the biggest volcano along the East West line of the East African Rift Valley and I must say, the most spectacular of them all. I have more photos of it downloaded from the net in my flickr account.. Just clicked on my daily zeitgeist and you'll be able to view them. One of the many spectacular crafts of Mother Nature I must say of Mount Kilimanjaro or, shining mountain in Swahili...
PS.. I don't know everything I said in this entry. Some are copied and pasted...
Sigh, the surfing around the sea of information had ignited a certain thirst in me to climb! Luckily, treeclimbing starts this Sunday! Argh! so exciting! Can't wait for it (Why am I squirming like a little girl??)! Also, I just realised I had not trekked for a long long time already. Anyone wanna go for the tree top trail along the central catchment? Feeling quite gian for Bt Timah also, it had been a long four years since I last climbed it! Selangor, Malaysia, anyone? Sometime in the end of July? I will go recce travel packages for it if anyone is willing to accompany this bore on this nature appreciation pilgrimage to our friendly neighbour country.
Till then..
